Well when I said CLASS WAR would contest any future parliamentary by-elections I didn’t have in mind that MID ULSTER might be the next one.  But if there’s anyone  out there…………..

    ‘An Alternative Ulster
    Grab it change it’s yours
    Get an Alternative Ulster
    Ignore the bores, their laws
    Get an Alternative Ulster
    Be an anti-security force
    Alter your native Ulster
    Alter your native land

Take a look where you’re livin’
You got the Army on the street
And the RUC dog of repression
    Is barking at your feet
Is this the kind of place you wanna live?
Is this were you wanna be?
Is this the only life we’re gonna have?
    What we need is

    An Alternative Ulster…’

No by-election according to the BBC:

    “McGuinness quits Westminster seat
“The Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness is to resign as MP for Mid Ulster to concentrate on his job at Stormont.
“Sinn Fein’s four other MPs are to resign from their assembly seats as the party seeks to end “double-jobbing”.
“Party president Gerry Adams said this would avoid triggering a string of Westminster by-elections.
“It is likely that any by-election in Mid Ulster will not take place until the autumn.
“The four MPs resigning their Stormont seats will be replaced by co-option.
Sinn Fein party president Gerry Adams said they wanted to avoid having by elections.
“He left the door open for the possibility the MLAs returning to Stormont at the next Northern Ireland Assembly elections.
“The decision to bring down the curtain on the Assembly careers of Sinn Fein MPs Conor Murphy and Michelle Gildernew is surprising.
“Mr Murphy said he had “some regrets” but he was not disappearing from Irish politics for British politics emphasising that there was no chance of Sinn Fein ending its boycott of Westminster.”

I’m not sure if they can legally do that. It might be amusing were a Class War group to disagree with Sinn Fein over the interpretation of British law.
