FISH PROCESSING FACTORY BURNED DOWN ON TRISTAN DA CUNHA

As always you’ll get the news from Tristan Da Cunha first here.

The only commercially owned venture on the island is the crayfish processing factory owned by OVENSTONE a South African company which also owns two fishing vessels. On February 13th the factory was mysteriously burned to the ground. The administrator is investigating….bare in mind there has never been a crime on the island since 1836!  ( excluding the allegation of the ‘theft of a tie pin’  made by the Stoltenhoff brothers on nearby Inaccessible Island in the 1860s – but you’ll be familar with that of course) )Hot news indeed.

I find your implications about the fire incredible and not a little ridiculous!! I’m not sure how familiar you are with Tristan, or if you have ever been there, but the implication that the fire may be a ‘crime’ is ludicrous at best! The Tristanians are not like the rest of the world – that’s what makes them such amazing people!
If you want the true facts about the fire, look on the official Tristan DC website and try not to publish accusations that have no basis in truth.
