HESTER’S STATELY PILE: BROUGHTON GRANGE: OPEN DAY APRIL 29TH

*******STOP PRESS:  RIGHT OF WAY ACROSS HESTER’S BROUGHTON GRANGE ESTATE: This could be bigger than Kinder Scout. WHO’S UP FOR A RAMBLE THEN?…………brilliant work Ray Hulm on a suggestion from Incubus: http://www.bloxham.info/walks/?cat=1

BRING THE CLASS WAR HOME TO THE RICH APRIL 29th

Stephen Hester’s 350 acre country mansion is BROUGHTON GRANGE at Broughton near Banbury in Oxfordshire. The next OPEN DAY there  is on APRIL 29th  – when for a mere £6 you can marvel at Stephen’s good luck and shake hands with one of his eight gardners…….no doubt the scullery maid will also be present. Soooooo……CLASS WAR are urging as many people as possible to come on the open day and chuck a few more quid into Hester’s maw. Fun and games assured. BE THERE – BEST FUN SINCE HENLEY.  Our French comrades will be visiting his ski lodge at Verbier on the same day.

i hope you aren’t suggesting that people PAY to enter ….

  2. INCUBUS

PAY? Surely the estate has some ‘rights of public way’ on it? I suggest a fucking big old ramble, some kinetic psychogeography and an anarchist picnic (tents optional) !

Yup, Here’s what you’re looking for INCUBUS

    Nice one Ray…
Seems like Ian’s campaign has paid off- Hester has said tonight that he won’t take his bonus…The mere threat of Class War gets the goods!?

    - but hang on, what about the rest of his filthy lucre!!?

  5. I looked to see whether they’d mentioned your article in their ‘Broughton in the media’ section — nothing there yet. If they haven’t linked to you by Wednesday, send them an email or give them a call.

  6. INCUBUS

Bring siege engines, battering rams and trebuchets, cos it looks as though Broughton Grange is actually as castle with a fucking moat! (see Google satellite map of the area)…

  7. If the weather is clement, what a wonderful place it would be to set up an impromptu occupation.

I am very partial to the fragrance of lime trees in early summer: and as a keen amateur bricklayer an close examination of the sturdiness of the walled garden is a must!
