CAMBRIDGE DEMO – THE FACTS

Cambridge rowers ask the queen to kill or remove  Mr.Asbo – instead her majesty practices overnight rendition, moves the swan 60 miles away and clips its wings.

Cambridge Animal Rights organises action in support of the swan and against the Bumps on June 16th

Class war decides to organise separate march on  the 16th  –  WHO’S RIVER -OUR RIVER.  Now listen:   We contact the police to get permission for the route  and the march. This is given so we have a perfectly legal march and agreed route.

Cambridge Rowers forum contains threats of violence to me – throw him in  the river, to other protestors – drown them – and threats  that t.he Varsity Hockey teams will come with hockey sticks, the rugby, bouncerswill be hired. So who is threatening violence? NOT ME.  No doubt the local constabulary willbe noting this.

Rowers urged to boycott local paper because of alleged favouritism to………a swan!!    Oh my aching sides! Tothose who say it was not university rowerswho wanted the boycott………..look at this:

‘If you work for Autonomy, Redgate, Cambridge Consultants, Arm, Marshalls, Napp, the Uni itself, the colleges, etc find the person in your HR Dept who placed job ads, or your PR Dept who places ads get them to

1. Work out how much they spend with the CEN
2. Ring up the person they talk to at the CEN
3. Tell that person how much they spend and then tell them that running the class war agenda against students is detremental to the interests of their business and if there is trouble at the Mays they will protest by not spending their money with the CEN the following week’

Bang to rights…………..

and finally………………NOW THAT MR. ASBO IS RUNNING FOR POLICE COMMISSIONER  THE MARCH ON JUNE 16TH WILL BE A  LAUNCH RALLY/CARNIVAL FUN DAY  ON JESUS GREEN WITH SPEAKERS  AND NO THREAT TO THE VARSITY HOCKEY TEAM OR YOU LOT ON THE ROWERS FORUM -ALREADY A CAMBRIDGE RESIDENT HAS COME FORWARD TO CHANG HER NAME TO MR. ASBO AND STAND FOR ELECTION. THEN WHEN MR. ASBO IS ELCECTED POLICE CHIEF………..THEN YOU CAN FUCKING WORRY.  SEE YOU ON THE 16TH.

But why does Cambridge University have a reputation for bullying?

  2. scherben

Surely threats of murder and mob violence are the territory of the ‘unwashed scum’ on whom they wipe their feet? Not of the ‘superior stock’ of those whose right it is to rule? Therfore Mr Bone, J’Accuse vous of libel against our natural betters 😉

What’s the point of this? Anyone can already use the river. Narrow boats, local rowers, uni rowers, punts and wildlife already use the river. The issue does not lie here.

And if we want to play the stupid game of associating ANIMALS with social classes, I’m sure a swan would be the last one associated with the working class.

    • ldev

the point is that Wildlife have every much as entitlement to use the River and they’ve been moved. Time to decide which side you are on.Rhetoric over..

      • Realist

One swan has been moved to stop it attacking stuff. If you’re so against nature being moved out of the way of humans, I suggest you protest against towns, houses, roads, farms and factories.

  4. Alex

Can you cite the quote about CEN advertising too, please.
And it’s the internet. As your blog proves, Mr. Bone, people are quite happy to use violent rhetoric, but it only seems to be worthy of comment here if it’s rowers.

  5. a long time ago

In the 1980s when I working for a building company in London I had to work with a young NF member who told me that him and his mates from Fulham were often hired by toffs to go and fight class war at Henley, etc. The toffs even paid for them to turn up in suits and top hats. I worked with him for over a year, just him and me on small building projects and he told me of his exploits in detail. The trouble was he often was off work sick because he was regularly done over by red action! I had to me careful because he had done time for attacking an Irish republican on a building site with a hammer. The toffs are usually too scared of a scrap, but they have money to hire thugs.

FFS – We don’t want anybody having nightmares. If you’re too scared by this -JUST DON’T GO- GO BACK TO WATCHING TV or whatever it is you do with your time.. HOW about this??? If you’ve something positive to say about this say it. If you want to create this mental impression in your head of Millwall, West Ham and Leeds Top Boys being hired as mercenaries to come and chainsaw massacre us into the River- GO OFF AND MAKE A FILM ABOUT IT AND PUT IT ON YOU TUBE!

    • once upon a time

Hi billy Liar. A few thngs… How could your mate have been “often” hired for Henley to fight class war? Henley only ever saw 2 protests and the 1st one they never had a clue about, so there was never any “often” about it. Either you or your mate is lying.
Red Action “regularly” did your friend over? did they make appontments with him? or was he just unlucky to always run into them? How many macho red blooded violent nazis have you ever heard of who actually brag about the hidings they receive? and regular hidings at that lol. Again, either you or your mate are lying.
Lastly, if it was common knowledge that he did time for attacking a work colleague with a hammer, how come he was still employed on building sites?

  6. AnnoyingPerson

If you’re protesting against a university, probably best to use correct grammar on your placards.
It’s not “Who’s River – Our River”, it’s “Whose River? Our River”.

If this isn’t posted, it suggests Mr Bone is too proud to admit his love of grammar.

How come CW are organising a separate thing to the AR folks? I thought the idea was to join forces on this one?

    • Anon

Yeah, earlier posts said Ian was going to Cambridge to have talks with the elderly Joan from Animal Rights in Cambridge so he could do a united approach. Surely it would have most impact if we were all together. I suggest another approach to the animal rights people. One big demo on the day.

  8. Anonymous

I feel a summer of discontent coming on.

dont bottle it – stick to the original route. lets fucking have it

  10. anotheranon

Again (you censored the last one):

No one asked for Mr Asbo to be killed. Part of the move request was so that he didn’t kill himself pecking at the back of a narrow boat.

You originally tried a joint demonstration with AR but they distanced themselves from you.

By definition of being an communist anarchist you believe confrontation is a legitimate method of change, you have consistently purported the idea Bash the Rich (and lumped all Cambridge students with ‘the rich’). Oh and said ‘We have no demands to make of you,our banners read only: “behold your future executioners”.’ Given that you have made it clear you think that the rowers of Cambridge are the same as those at henley (untrue) this is quite a clear threat of violence. Although I think that the ten people that’ll turn up might not have the bottle to start the ‘revolution’ as a minority rise up. (You don’t represent the working class).

You make no suggestion as to where your quote comes from, and the only other one you put up says ‘I never went to university’.
You doctored the quote, not even showing text had been skipped with the standard ‘…’, in order to claim it was University rowers posting it. You lied

No one argues that the river belongs to anyone but the people. That’s why houseboats, city crews and university crews use it. It is open to all.

Stop acting the pigeon and put together a cohesive argument that doesn’t rely on you directly lying.

    • Ashe

If the river belongs to everyone why do the so-called Conservators of the CAM decide who can use it?

      • anotheranon

The system is meant to work along the lines of anyone who ruins the time of everyone else, or causes significant wildlife damage is stopped from using it (Battleship Bob). Also numbers of users are controlled to limit wildlife damage, and payments fund maintenance work on the banks and trees etc. The initial reason it was set up was to maintain the Cam as a navigable passage to allow trade and supplies to arrive.
I think that such an authority should come under a democratically answerable system, but it works rather well at the moment (aside from mistiming grass-cutting) so I think sorting other problems out takes priority.

  11. stuff the jubilee

I’m the mother of a Cambridge under-graduate who likes rowing and we are neither elite, conformist, true-blue or stuck up – quite the opposite in fact so I don’t get this rather random demo aimed at young people, some of whom are just making the most of the opportunities afforded by sheer dedication to their chosen university subjects and a passion for learning – I think there are far more important things to protest at and about…..and actually Mr Asbo is a very well-loved swan and will no doubt be back on home-waters very soon as he will be missed on early morning training sessions.
