Much indignation on the TUSC/SOCIALST PARTY milieu that a titan of Labour like DAVE NELLIST has ….wait for it….wait a bit more….been refused observer status at the recent Left Unity meeting. Or should we say refused VOYEUR status. Left Unity has decided on one member one vote and you’re either in it or you aint. There is no bar to individuals being members of TUSC/SP but you can’t roll up like Nellist and demand observer status. You put your whole self in Dave….or out. However the hysterical reaction is hilarious….what have they done now……..ONLY EXCLUDED DAVE FROM OBSERVER STATUS.
Cue the smelling salts. Voyeurism on the Left – reeling back with shock news about the horrors your rivals have perpetrated.
NELLIST REFUSED VOYEUR STATUS……..PASS THE SMELLING SALTS

Unfortunately, it’s not as exciting as that. https://twitter.com/davenellist/status/333259437022253056
Dave Nellist turned up to talk to Ken Loach, wasn’t allowed to wait inside the meeting because it was for members of Left Unity only So he didn’t demand access. On a related note, the meeting decided to eventually to allow observers although not on the elected organising committee.
And Mr Nellist was at no point looking in on naked people in bedrooms, so he wasn’t a voyeur either.
There can only be one explanation for the outrageous treatment of comrade Nellist:
Comrades, this is either an anti-socialist witch hunt or islamophobia.
Remember, It’s always a witch hunt. Or Islamophobia.
And unless the brave comrade has joined the Badr Brigade my money’s on a witch hunt.
Some nuggets from the last few days. Some are direct quotes:
Without the guidance of the “giants” of British socialism we are all doomed.
Participation by the SWP, Socialist Party and other “scientific” socialist groups is a necessity.
If you agree with left unity you are a Kinnockite. (wtf?)
The SWP, SP and all the rest have to be welcomed as an indispensable part of this process. This should be obvious to every genuine supporter of left unity.
Dave Nellist is a decent bloke (a workers’ MP on a worker’s wage was always going to be a populist message). Clearly he is better lot than that other great folk hero (or villain) of the Militant left, Tommy Sheridan! What surprises me is that he hasn’t extracted himself yet from the old Militant dogma that runs something like: nationalise the largest 200 companies and we will have socialism.
He once said that he feared that socialism could not come in his lifetime. I’m afraid he’s right but it would be disingenuous to put any blame on him for this (unlike most of the Trots). I only wish that people would stop using the term left because it is a lazy form of shorthand. What exactly do you mean by left? And if someone is leftwing, what are they?
