DOUBLE THE PENSION

There is a genuine case to be made for this and increasing the minimum wage: the more money the working classes have the more they spend because unlike the rich they can’t afford to buy the very expensive goods which last years. So if all benefits and pay is increased and as many jobs as possible kept in the UK the jobless total would drop, living standards would improve and so would profits…..
Too naive? Thought so.
I agree Pip would improve things all round, but it would for the majority of people -which is definitely not on the agenda. Most of the class war is fought and won by the govt for the rich, and Keynsian economics is not on the menu, not even for Labour. Double Dole as a concept is good thought provoker though and shows what Labour should be doing if they had any integrity.
Bit off-topic but I happened across this article about how we’re all subsidising the slaughter of wildlife by the rich. I don’t normally read anything by Monbiot but I think he’s got this right.
Talking of idiot posh greenies, prince charles who complained bitterly about food companies shipping produce “one cannot continue to export vast quantities of commodities round the world”, turns out is sending thousands of crates of Duchy mineral water 6000 miles to the middle east regularly. Nice little earner for FA cup head.
I would suggest adding double corporate tax too, but they’re probably dodging it.
