a·part·heid (-pärtht, -ht)
1. An official policy of racial segregation formerly practiced in the Republic of South Africa, involving political, legal, and economic discrimination against nonwhites.
2. A policy or practice of separating or segregating groups.
3. The condition of being separated from others; segregation
So the dictionary definition of APARTHEID fits perfectly the segregation at NO.1 Commercial Street. Accordingly I’ve written to the DESMOND TUTU PEACE CENTRE in South Africa asking that Desmond Tutu be made aware of the situation and to join us if he is able -or otherwise send a message of support. I feel that if we get a message of support Desmond it will highlight the ‘separate development’ apartheid being imposed throughout the UK’s capitalcity and supported by both the prime minister and mayor of London. Any such message will be read out on Wednesday at Commercial Street.
