I remember the Wreck a Roller back cover well. I demanded to know who was going to join me in wrecking a few Roller’s but was haughtily told I could not substitute myself for the working class and that we should simply invite others to wreck said roller’s and send in their reports for us to put in the paper. 🙂
I left shortly after. 🙂
Seeing our best stuff relegated to a museum is both touching and alarming.
Perhaps we need to revisit Martin Wright’s maxim, “without action you’r nothing”.
I did like the CW poster being in the HEAVY METAL exhibition in Birmingham last year though
When they announced Bristols poll tax figure on college green in 1990 chaos ensued. The speakers turned over, council house stormed, and mounted police drove the mob down onto Bristol centre. Whereupon amongst the stationary traffic a Rolls Royce, complete with indignant occupants-it was going nowhere during the temporary insurgency. Ah, spotted ! Like one of those Survival documentaries on wolves or hyenas, it was singled out as suitable prey as a group of dreadlocked crusties homed in and booted chunks out of it. All that was missing was David Attenboros commentary.
