To claim that Britain needed Thatcher is like saying Britain needed a hole in the head ! Had Labour gon e with barbara Castle rather than Jim Callaghan to replace Wilson(and it was teh Labour party’s fault that they didn’t) , Thatcher would never have been elected a s PrimeMiniste in 1979 as her success was down to the fact that she was the only female party leader around .
Thatcher did nothing for the common people and infact aided corruption for bankers and other rich establishements .
The privatisation of the railways was a complete farce ,indicating the ridiculousness of Thatcherism .
The fact that she wanted to associate herself with a known paedophile just because he voted and publicised her , shows how weird her attitude was . it is a good thing she was sacked as PM by her own party in 1990 . Any one who supported a person like that is either corrupt or daft !

Margaret Thatcher may have had her faults but there’s no doubt that the country needed a good kick up the arse which she duly administered. To compare her with a man who raped under-age girls simply reveals your own stupidity.

I remember a friend of my Mums in the 70s a Ward sister who worked at Stoke Mandeville telling us it was going on with Saville.

Why didn’t anyone in the know report him? I know some extra funds for the hospital might have dried up, but what’s more important – extra money for an NHS-funded hospital or preventing a paedophile from raping teenage girls?
Oh come on. Asking why a known paedophile was not investigated. The answer – censorship. In Saville’s case it would have come from the right. But the really big cases of paedophile attacks on working class children of late are censored by the left.
Because we had the shit beaten out of us if we did complain. Teachers and older boys were quick to identify any complaining victim as a “queer” or “pedo”. The shame and guilt of having being abused is deep.

I’m thinking that all this could have titanic social ramifications – not just in terms of the dethroning of the predatory high priests of the showbiz spectacle and the collusion of media muppets in keeping things under wraps, but extending to the whole social hierarchy that requires us to ‘know our place’, the biggest burden being borne by the children who ‘should be seen and not heard’. Didn’t the Pierre Dutroux child abuse/murder scandal in Belgium bring down a government (certainly created a political crisis). At the very least, the copper who tried to investigate the abuse at Haute de la Garenne in Jersey (which SaVile visited) will be vindicated, but the rumblings from this affair will go much further and deeper… we ain’t seen nothing yet.
