DID STOOGE DIE OF SHAME AFTER SEEING IGGY ADVERT?

Theres something peculiarly awful, disheartening and plain vile about the IGGY POP advert for SWIFTCOVER INSURANCE – complete even with circled anarchist A sign. OK – we’ve had John Lydon advertising butter – but that’s what the panto dame does to get the filthy lucre aint it? Without quoting from Bill Hicks I dont quite know what’s so dispiriting about the Iggy advert – we should be prepared shouldn’t we  by now? I see Iggy’s guitarist from the earlydays with THE STOOGES – Ron Asheton- died of a heart attack on Monday. No doubt he’d seen the advert……..
