Viewers are used to Robert Peston breathlessly coming into the studio with a stream of exclusives on the economy. Of late however he’s been popping up with exclusives on police inquiries into News Int and all sorts of other stuff way beyond his economic remit. I can reveal that these exclusives are being drip fed to him by WILL LEWIS his old friend and former colleague on the times……..now working as Chief Troubleshooter for Rupert Murdoch at wapping. The stories are all revelatory about Andy Coulson and the few bad apples scenario – absolving the one they call REBEKAH from all sins. WILL LEWIS and his drip feeding exclusives to Peston is the subject of the Met’s complaint yesterday about News Int undermining their inquiry by leaking. One exclusive you won’t hear from robert Peston.

Peston’s a nasty little shill for the corporate sector, particularly the investment banks. He was repeating the ‘fundamentals of the UK economy’ line until the last second before the crash of 08, and then he disingenuously expressed surprise when the bubble burst and the banks were left demanding trillions from the rest of us in return for the toxic shit on their balance sheets. Not convincing. He’s been grovelling around News International for as long as anyone can remember, and has zero credibility outside of the Whitehall-BBC bubble.
I can see a move to the Cotswolds (Chpping Norton) in the near future, and lots of wonderful country soirees with David, Rebekah and Samantha. There’s no point in them hacking his phone, it’s simply full of loving texts to Rupert along with his heartfelt condolences to JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs.
