VENNER’S RISING RE-ENACTMENT/WALK ON EPIPHANY 2013

On January 6th we will be laying a wreath in Swan Alley off Coleman Street in memory of  Thomas Venner and  his fellow Fifth Monarchists who courageously rose  up here  against the return of the monarchy in 1661. With the slogans  ‘KING JESUS’  ‘HEADS ON PIKES’  ‘NOBILITY IN CHAINS’ they marched off to seize St. Pauls well armed with halberds and blunderbusses. For a staggering 4 days they fought a guerrilla war in central London. For too long Venner has been ignored. We will follow the uprising’s route to St.Pauls where Venner himself will make a speech on the steps of the cathedral. Epiphany is the day allotted for Christ to return so we hope King Jesus may also show up.

We need a big as possible mob to make this effective for the film we are producing. You can come in period dress with weapons or in modern dress – but being a balaclava/ski mask/ scarf as our mob will be a mix of Black Bloc and Fifth Monarchists. We will see the similarities beween Venner’s Rising and OCCUPY in their choice of St.Pauls and militancy. For celebrity Fifth Monarchy spotting ANNA TRAPNEL  VAVASOR POWELL JONATHAN FEAKE    PRAISEGOD BAREBONES and  MARY CARY will also be speaking. Bring your mates.

  5. I’ve written something about this here, including some details about Fifth Monarchist activity in South London (did you know hundreds of dissenters were rounded up in Croydon alone): http://transpont.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/history-corner-fifth-monarchists-17th.html
